I feel that having at least basic knowledge of survival in your area (bare minimum) is important. Why? Because there are no guarantees in life and we never know when we might be forced into a situation where we have to live with fewer luxuries than we are accustomed to. That includes everything from well stocked grocery stores to indoor plumbing.
What would you do if, for example, you're evacuated from your home due to a wildfire, flood, hurricane, riots, or other emergency? Would you have a place to go? A plan to make it through safely until the threat had passed? Obviously we're all interested in (and likely more than capable of) self defense with firearms, but what else do we need? How can we prepare ourselves? Sharing information, of course! No need to reinvent the wheel, you know? Tons of videos and books on the subject of survival and preparing for emergency situations.
I suggest we each share a favorite resource in whatever form we prefer.
I'll start with the book "S.A.S. Survival Handbook" by John Wiseman . It's comprehensive and easy to digest, not to mention inexpensive and portable :).
Thanks in advance to any fellow patriots that contribute to the shared knowledge pool :)!
