First time build of P80 PF940CL using OEM Glock 17 upk, lpk, slide & barrel.
All going well till test fitting slide to frame. I could hardly get the slide over the locking block. Used the wet sanding advice in the Locking Block fixes video. Slide now goes on but fits way too tight to function. I removed the locking block and tested it again to the slide and all is good. When I install back into frame, binding occurs on the outsides of the locking block ears, not the top as expected. It’s so tight it’s scratching of the Nitrite coating in the slide grooves.
I think when the locking block is fully seated in the frame, it is slightly spreading it open & causing the binding. Looking for suggestions. Should I file down the inside front legs of the locking block?
This seems like the only way to keep the block from slightly spreading open when fully seated. shouldn’t affect anything since the pin will hold everything in place.
