MARINE GUN BUILDER
Yeah Buddy ❤️. Did you use that blue angle cutter yet?
It's getting crowded on my build table. I am finding proper and convenient places for everything to live. My OCD can only deal with this clutter for so long... lol
Oh, and Stoneworks is not set up to sharpen my Gates angled flush cutters, so I will be in the market for the Knipex 160's or the ones in your shop. Are the new red FastCap flush cutters you have now good to go? If so, I would rather order from your shop (where they are $8 less expensive than the Knipex 160's) - so to help support our cause and feed our passion for building these polymer 80 kits as perfect as we can, and then going out and shooting them. Good stuff my friend. Maybe someday we can go out and blow shit up!
Yes. They are high quality and fit the hand great, but they are not shipped very sharp. Stoneworks is just down the street, they sharpen anything properly for $1.50 an inch. If my Gates flush angle cutters can hold the razor sharp edge Stoneworks puts on it, it'll be all good. If not, I will try the ones in your shop.
My fret cutters are a little more narrow in cutting surface (1") than the Hosco flush cutters (1-3/16"), but any fret cutter will get better reach to snip out out the channel wall when the tabs are cut from the frame. That little bit of extra space lets the bitterroot fret cutter reach the bottom of the wall, almost all the way to where the bottom crescent starts on both sides.
I'll report back after I have my Gates angled flush cutters sharpened, and then we'll see if they hold an edge after making several cuts through polymer (and no, not by cutting up any of my P80 frames - lol).
